[EVENT] - THE U.A. ENTRANCE EXAM - Page 2 Empty Re: [EVENT] - THE U.A. ENTRANCE EXAM

"BWEGH!"

Chizue's moment of coolness was cut short as a heavy object traveling at high speeds impacted straight to her spine and knocked her straight to the ground.  Even if Shizuka was okay, there were probably some cracked vertebrae in Chizue's spine.  She groaned in agony on the ground as other participants made their landing behind them.  Shizuka's comments didn't help the situation much, either.  The idea of being helped by anyone, let alone miss Infinite Dumbness here, was disgusting and angering to Chizue.  Once the adrenaline started kicking in from Shizuka's Quirk, Chizue managed to bring herself to stand up and ignore the pain running through her back.

"Never talk to me again.  Screw off and die.  I hope you flunk this test.  If I ever see you again, it will be too soon."  The only hold barred was swearing.  With the vigor she'd received from Shizuka's Quirk, Chizue gave one last glare to the pile of endless positivity and launched her chains to escape from her personal Hell personified.  Speed was key here, running around on foot here was just going to waste time and energy.  So, the air was the best way for her to be moving around.  She ignored all of the rubies and civilians she saw, but it wasn't long before she ran into the first faux villain.  Chizue shot herself towards them, sliding past them with one of her chains out to catch them.  Sadly, pro heroes weren't quite that easy to capture and this one saw that attack coming a mile away, easily ducking under her first pass.

"That was a nice try, Hero!  But!  You can--" His attempt at a villain monologue was cut short as the chain Chizue had missed with split into four and started going after his limbs and neck.  It didn't take long for Chizue to trip up the Hero with her four-pronged attack, wrapping one of his ankles and bringing him to the ground before securely restraining him with the rest of her chains.  With victory and her first token all but secured, Chizue stepped towards the chained up Villain to retrieve the Emerald.  But, the Villain had lead her into a false sense of security.  In an instant, his body expanded rapidly enough to shatter the restraining chains before Chizue could give them slack.  Her blood spattered against the black obsidian walls, and the Villain in front of her had gone from looking like an ordinary man to a hybrid of a bunch of lame horror monsters.  He had spines coming out of his back, a face not even a mother could love that looked like both a wolf and a crocodile, and antlers with a punch of really sharp ends.  Great Quirk for a volunteer Villain, didn't seem like a great Quirk for a Hero if that's all it did.  Still, it seemed like this man could transform at will so restraining him with chains was out of the question.  He'd either expand or shrink back down again to escape them.

With the adrenaline from Shizuka's Quirk still pumping through her veins, Chizue came up with a new plan of attack and kept running towards the villain at full sprint.  The four chains on her right arm retracted and merged once again into a large one ending in a large sphere, doing the same to the spike on her left.  She swung both of them at once, making it look like she was aiming to smash him in the head with them, making sure the attacks had enough wind up for him to see them coming.  Sure enough, he did and raised his monstrous arms to stop them.  The chains wrapped around tbem harmlessly and he took hold of them to try and pull Chizue towards him.

"Gotcha now, girlie!"  It was clear he was having fun with his role, with Chizue willingly being dragged towards him before pointing down.  "Hah!  I'm not falling for that one!"  However, he did indeed fall for it as Chizue had turned one of the spheres into a claw and extended it to grab the emerald token while he was distracted with her.  Since it seemed he still hadn't noticed, Chizue had the chain still ending in a sphere extend and slam into his stomach.  The impact caused him to let go of her chains and safely make a retreat.

"Careful in construction zones," she said before hookshotting off with her first emerald token.  As she did, Chizue couldn't help but wonder if that faux Villain was just going easy on her because she was a student, or if he really was dumb enough to fall for all of that.  In just a couple of minutes of her high-speed grappling, she spotted her second faux Villain.  This one, just from his pose and costume seemed significantly cooler, intelligent, and more dangerous.  This one smirked when he saw Chizue's chains, realized his Quirk was simply going to be too poor of a match-up for her.  His confidence didn't deter Chizue, however, and this time she split both of her chains into four for a total of eight heading straight for him without wasting any time before she had even landed.  In ordinary circumstances, that probably would have been too many to avoid.

"MAGNETIC HOLD!"  The man shouted out as the eight chains danced towards him.  A circle of sparks flowed out from him before the chains, and Chizue with them, were sent careening into the ground.  The impact only reminded Chizue of the cracked vertebrae she had received from the infinite dumbness as pain shot through her body.  This faux villain had a very good evil laugh, one he was sure to put on full display at Chizue's helplessness.  "Poor girl!  It's a shame you had the misfortune to encounter me!  Your quirk relies on metal, while my Quirk, Magnetic Hold, allows me to turn the gravitational fields around me into magnetic powerful enough that even the strongest man couldn't separate metal from the floor we now stand on!  You are powerless before me!"

That last sentence was triggering to Chizue.  Calling her powerless in any situation was the biggest mistake anyone could make around her.  In order to allow herself to stand, her chains retracted back into blood.  Worse still, she had to allow the wounds she had made to use her Quirk without harming herself to open.  Blood began to drip from her arms and hands as she stood up.  It was true, her Quirk was at a complete disadvantage against his.  So, all she had to do was win without her Quirk.  In her eyes was pure anger.  She grabbed hold of her scarf and pulled it off from around her neck, keeping both of her hands hidden underneath it as she charged towards him.  Since his Quirk made using weapons against him very difficult, this Pro had probably trained himself in hand-to-hand combat.  So, she'd have to get tricky.  Fighting someone who's movements you can't fully keep track of is very difficult.

Once she closed in, her assumption was proved correct.  He was able to read her punches through the scarf well enough he was able to deflect them repeatedly.  She tried to mix things up with a low sweep but he hopped over it, and when she tried to take advantage of her lowered body to go for an uppercut with all her weight behind it, he dodged and took hold of her arm.  This villain now had Chizue in a hold, and if he were a real villain, he'd easily be able to break her arm if he wanted to.

"Now that's enough.  You have tenacity, but there's no winning in this situation.  My Magnetic Hold is still active.  You can't use your Quirk.  I have hold of your arm.  You look like you need medical attention for those injuries.  It's time to give up.  Luck just wasn't on your sAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!  OH MY GOD, WHAT THE F***!?"  His screams of pain could be heard for quite a distance as Chizue stabbed his arm with a quick spike from her arm.  It didn't last long enough to be dragged too far down by Magnetic Hold, and she used this opening to grab the emerald token off of his belt.  Before walking off, she wrapped her scarf back around her neck and re-stitched her wounds.  Then, she pulled a notebook out of one of her pockets.

Pointing dramatically, she said, "Your power was magnetic, but victory isn't made of iron."  And with that, she hookshot away again, a new wound in her skin.

Now, she only needed one more.  Conveniently, this one was just around the corner having heard the screams of the faux villain Chizue had just stabbed.  For her third and final battle, it was woman against woman.  However, this woman chose a poor time to challenge Chizue as she was still pissed off after the powerless comment.  She tried to start some kind of monologue about how she was going to be the villain to defeat Chizue, but before this poor faux villain even had a chance to use her Quirk, she found herself grabbed by chains and slammed against the wall.  It was hard enough that the poor girl was knocked out in an instant.  No permanent head trauma though.  Probably.  With that done in an instant, Chizue picked up her final emerald token and hookshot herself back to the entrance at top speed.

As she was nearing the exit, the adrenaline from the recent encounters finally wore off and she began to feel the full pain from her injuries.  It was difficult to bear, but she was managing as she flew through the air.  Once she made it back to the entrance though, she messed up her landing and made the pain even worse.  Her own agony was plenty audible for those near the entrance at the time of her return, but she managed to drag herself and teleport out.  Her determination brought her far enough to turn in her tokens, but once her victory was confirmed, she passed out.

[EVENT] - THE U.A. ENTRANCE EXAM - Page 2 Empty Re: [EVENT] - THE U.A. ENTRANCE EXAM

Shizuka tilted her head in confusion at the girl's abrasive comments. She must have been pretty angry about Shizuka landing on her like that. She was hoping that the adrenaline boost would make her feel better, but it didn't seem like enough, so Shizuka decided she'd have to make it up to her later. As she flew away with her cool chain-things, Shizuka waved to her, "Good luck!" she called cheerfully, content in the knowledge that her adrenaline boost would probably help the girl complete the exam. Now it was just on Shizuka to finish the exam herself.

Shizuka popped her earbuds in, and began playing some music to get her pumped up, then sped off into the maze. She ran around for a few minutes, managing to pick up a couple of rubies, before coming to a dead end. She saw a man pinned under a large slab of what looked like concrete, and he seemed to be trapped there. Shizuka called out to the man, "Don't give up! You can get out, I know it!" backing her words with her quirk. The man, suddenly filled with adrenaline, lifted the slab off of him and pushed it aside before getting up. Despite Shizuka not directly helping him, he could tell what she had done, and thanked her for her help. Shizuka took the still adrenaline-hyped man by the hand and led him back to the warp point. "Oh, one more thing," Shizuka said, as the man gave her his sapphire, "You should probably take it easy. You're gonna feel pretty bad once the adrenaline rush wears off." Before the man could respond, Shizuka was off again.

Shizuka took a different path this time, and on her way, noticed a ruby she was surprised nobody had taken yet. Shortly after, she found another one, just lying on the ground, in the middle of the path. It seemed like there was a veritable path of rubies forming before her. Following the trail she thought she had just discovered, Shizuka picked up a few more rubies, before running into another participant of the exam. Well, almost running into, at least. Shizuka hadn't been looking where she was going, staring at the ground for rubies instead, and nearly barreled into this girl, just barely stopping herself, the suddenly halt causing her to tip forward and fall, landing on her knees and face. She looked up from the ground, running a hand across her face to soothe the pain, and looked up at who she'd nearly run over. She was a rather mature looking girl, with long, shockingly green hair. "Ah, sorry, sorry," Shizuka offered, grinning sheepishly, "I, uh, wasn't looking where I was going." Shizuka blinked, and then took a look around her, just now noticing that all the rubies she'd been carrying had gone flying out of her hands and were now littering the floor around them, "Ah! My rubies!" Not even taking the time to pick herself up, Shizuka scrambled along the floor on her hands and knees, trying to gather up the gems she'd clumsily dropped.

-----------------------------------------

Yuri was off like a flash. Her eyes constantly darted around the labyrinth, looking for any sign of people to rescue. In her haste and tunnel-vision, she passed over every ruby she came across, scarcely even noticing them, or deigning them worth her time to pick up. She was on a strict limit in regards to how much energy she could expend with no sun or soil to draw nutrients from, which meant she had to finish the test as fast as possible, so she could get back to the surface.

As she rounded a corner in the maze, she heard a cry for help from above her. Peering up, she saw a man stuck in some sort of giant cobweb on the wall. In a moment, her arm had extended up to the web, splitting into several thin vines, that whipped at the cobweb, cutting away the sticky webbing, then wrapped around the man and pulled him down. "Hang tight, mister," Yuri said, keeping the man wrapped gently in her vines, "You might be in for a long ride." Rather than immediately retrace her steps to escort the man to the entrance, Yuri continued further into the maze with the man still in her grasp.

Yuri heard another scream and quickly followed it to its origins. She saw a young-looking guy recoiling in faux-fear from an obviously fake dragon-like contraption breathing obviously fake, cardboard fire. Yuri stopped in her tracks for just a moment at that. "Don't be stupid," she berated herself, "It's not real. It can't burn you." She took a deep breath, then extended her non-occupied arm out towards the dragon and the man. Her arm split into two thick vines, as one wrapped around the dragon's maw, forcing it shut, while Yuri assured herself she was in no danger, and the other beckoned towards the man. When he grabbed the vine, Yuri wrapped it around his waist and retracted that vine back to her, keeping it wrapped around the man just like her other rescue, but let her other vine drag behind her at full length, not willing to expend the energy needed to retract it just yet. Once more, she continued further into the maze, her two civilians still in tow.

In her haste to get through the exam, Yuri was tunnel-visioning too hard, and nearly went barreling over a hole in the ground, just barely stopping herself, and probably giving her two rescues a bit of a jolt. She peered down over the edge and saw it was actually a pretty short drop into a deep pool of water. Probably not even a painful drop, and nothing someone who could swim couldn't get out of. Still, that didn't stop the woman who was currently in that pool of water from flailing about, screaming about how she couldn't swim and was drowning. Her acting was pretty bad, but Yuri didn't really blame her. She threw the long vine she had made to seal the dragon's maw down into the water, and wrapped it around the woman, then hauled her up the short distance to join the others. That made three, but that still wasn't enough, and she wanted to waste no time running back to the entrance like this. Now carrying three people in her vines, she ran further into the maze.

Yuri ran into a portion of the maze that seemed to be more open than most of it. She scanned the area and noticed a woman trapped under a small pile of rubble. She ran up to the woman and crouched down next to her. Her arms were currently completely full, so how could she handle this? Well. She did still have two other limbs to use, didn't she? Somewhat awkwardly, she stood up, and lifted one leg, which split apart into several grasping vines. She felt her face turn orange with embarrassment, as she stood on one leg in front of this woman while her leg-vines tore the rubble off of her. She must have looked absolutely ridiculous. Finally, she had cleared enough of the rubble off haul the woman out. She picked the woman up, lifted her up to the vines she had used to grab the first man, and had some split off to wrap around her new passenger instead, before reforming her leg. Now inundated with four rescues, she was starting to get weighed down, and her energy usage was almost at its limit. She wouldn't be able to effectively grow, split, or retract her limbs until she got some more energy. She debated going back to the exit at this point, getting her four sapphires, and just trying to scrounge up three rubies to complete the exam, but... At this point, most of the rubies near the entrance would have already been taken. If she had to guess which way more rubies would be, and she guessed wrong, she could end up wasting too much time, and end up not making it. She had no other options but to find some way of getting one last sapphire or emerald.

She wouldn't have to wait too long to find her opportunity. She saw a young girl strapped to a chair, with some kind of complex-looking device with a timer-display, making a beeping noise. It looked like it was supposed to be some kind of bomb, but upon closer inspection, the timer wasn't even ticking down. Well that's just lazy. Yuri shook her head, ignoring it, and ran up to the girl. Once again, her hands were full, so she'd have to get creative with freeing this girl. Using the tiniest amount of the energy she still had, she narrowed her toes into a fine point, and with a kick, cut through the restraints on the girl's chair, leaving the "bomb" where it was. Then she knelt down in front of the girl and said, "hop on my back." When she did, Yuri expended the very last of her energy reserves to wrap her leaf-hair around the girl, securing her snugly against her back. She was tired, and she was encumbered, and she had hit absolute rock bottom with her quirk's energy, but she was currently carrying all five civilians she needed. Now she just had to get back.

She rushed back as fast as her exhausted body could take her. Her memory served her well, referencing the map they had been shown earlier with the paths she had already taken, she quickly calculated a highly efficient route through the maze and made her way back to the entrance. Finally, in one exhausted motion, she heaved a great sigh and let all five of her rescues down. They each gave her their sapphire, and then she stepped through the warp. She turned in her tokens, and without another word, went outside, lied down on the grass, and all but passed out.

[EVENT] - THE U.A. ENTRANCE EXAM - Page 2 Empty Re: [EVENT] - THE U.A. ENTRANCE EXAM

Izumi found herself in possession of one sapphire and a collection of rubies that she was using still mainly as a path marker for herself. As expected she had had to rely more on making mental landmarks than the path idea. Others were sure to notice the rubies on the ground and round them up. But it was less on her mind than the first completed rescue. There had been a person calling for help. Upon arriving the girl had found a man with his leg apparently pinned under some wooden structure. All of this was for the exam of course and so the girl had little problem lifting the set piece up and setting the man free. She swiftly guided him back to the center of the maze where she the man thanked her and presented her with the sapphire.

If the other four rescues were going to take about as long as the first, Izumi was confident in her ability to finish the exam in just under forty minutes but that would of course depend on the other rescues being similarly close by and easy to handle. She was on another path, again setting the rubies she found at certain spots along the way. But then she heard footsteps. Perhaps another contestant heading her away. And fast at that. But then there was a thud and a sound of several small objects scattering onto the floor. Izumi looked behind her to see a girl scrambling for her rubies while offering apologies. She smiled at the sight and bent down to pick up a few of the girl's rubies for her.

"Here you missed these." she said with a smile while presenting the two she'd picked up. Her other hand was outstretched to help Shizuka to her feet. "You gotta be careful running around in an unfamiliar place like this. You never know when you might trip up like that." she advised softly.

----------

A fair bit of time had passed for Shinobu and he was feeling pretty good. His breath had returned to a normal rate, he didn't think he had all that much charge built up and he'd been able to watch some curious individuals come in for the finish after him. After what felt like forever he figured he was safe to join the others who had finished in one of the waiting rooms. It had been nearly a half hour since he'd wrapped up when a boy came through the warp and turned in his points with what seemed like the last of his energy. With how tired he was, the cat boy could only imagine he'd been doing a lot of extra running around the place, looking for whatever points remained at this stage of the game.

"Heeeyyyy!!" he called out while waving to the exhausted Hinata. He trotted over, building up some more charge for the effort but then he'd be careful not to touch him. "Looks like you still made it man. Was wondering if anyone was still in there." came the greeting. "You must had to run a marathon in there." he said curiously. There was little reason to think they had a connection here but then if he was tired from running that was a start. Running was everything. And if he liked running maybe Hinata also liked soccer. That would already be two things in common. Best to get off on the right foot from the start with his future classmates.

[EVENT] - THE U.A. ENTRANCE EXAM - Page 2 Empty Re: [EVENT] - THE U.A. ENTRANCE EXAM

Post by Jello Fri Jul 06, 2018 11:37 pm

Shoving his dead phone back in his pocket, Hinata drew another set of breaths trying to regulate his breath. He really was completely exhausted from that test, partly because of the sheer difficulty of completing that task with his available tools, quirk included, but also because he simply wasn't very physically adept. His body was sort of lackadaisically maintained for the sake of function. No proper diets, no regular exercise other than a light morning walk to the mailbox every morning and that was it. He'd have flopped over dead on the floor for a nap to recover if it weren't for an approaching figure; a student who seemed more than alright given the circumstances.

Hinata looked over and with a glance his eyes slightly widened at the sight; a student with a mutation quirk was somewhat rare around these parts. Not entirely unheard of but still, for some reason the commonality of it hadn't set in so well given that the boy had grown up with a mostly anatomically human household. Regardless, what little bit of surprise might've showed dissipated quickly as the fatigue on his body overtook him. Hinata propped himself up using his hands on his knees to keep his body from giving, catching couple more breaths. The student started chatting in Hinata's vicinity and it took maybe a solid five or six seconds to realize that he was being referred to. Even having believed he was the intended target for discussion, he looked behind him and when nobody else was there, he pointed to himself mouthing the word, "me?"

Finally, having caught some of his breath, Hinata stood up straight and nodded in response. Running a marathon was... quite accurate really. Or at least it was what the equivalent of a marathon runner who actually ran a marathon distance would've felt after their bout, or probably a little bit less. "Yeah... It was... a pretty exhausting test." Hinata's breaths were still staggered between his responses, desperately in need of a bottle of water and somewhere to sit before his shaking body collapsed from the exhausting trial he just endured.

[EVENT] - THE U.A. ENTRANCE EXAM - Page 2 Empty Re: [EVENT] - THE U.A. ENTRANCE EXAM

Post by CMRenji Sat Jul 07, 2018 2:07 am

The serpentine villain readies his claws. “Heroes have to deal with unfair advantages and terrifying situations in their daily lives, I sure hope you’re ready to do that!” The large woman brought forth her weapon, a simply massive trident. She stared down Keiji with a menacingly cold look.  “If we stick together, he won’t be able to do anything.” The man with the ooze running down his body let out an evil chuckle. “I know we’re supposed to be the baddies, but this is just too much! Hey, come and try to get this, boy!~” The man flicked his emerald about 2 meters forward down the corridor. The old man sighed as he leaned against the wall.

Keiji began to sweat. His eyes stayed focused on the group. “I have to relax… I just need one.” He took a step back and looked dow at the emerald lying on the ground. He noticed that it had a small blot of purple stuck to it. “Yep, he set that one up as a trap for sure. But I won’t be able to run past all of them to grab the others.”

“Hey man, you’re gonna fail if you don’t hurry~” The purple man goaded.

“I’ve got it!” Keiji ran up to the villains as he began to charge up his purple fireworks in his right hand.

The woman scoffed. “Some sort of energy blast. Just keep your guards up everyone!” And every villain aside from the purple man raised their arms to defend themselves.

Keiji slid down the hall and grabbed hold of the emerald on the ground with his left hand. “Wow, what a simpleton!~” The purple one raised his arms as the purple goo on the emerald grew and enveloped Keiji. It spread and covered over his whole body incredibly fast.

“I hope this works….” Keiji said nervously as he lowered his arm in front of his chest. The snake man moved his claws from his face and gasped. “He didn’t attack?” The firework burned and glowed hotter and stronger. It began to flicker and distort before erupting on Keiji, knocking him back about a meter and blowing away most of the goo.

“Ahhha, very nice, but I’ve still got you!” The goo started racing up his legs and stuck him to the floor about 4 meters in front of the villains. Keiji quickly shot another firework and his foot to free himself and started dashing away.

The old man evaporated into darkness and teleported to the other side of the hall. “Come child, I know that you’re at your limit!”

Keiji grunted in frustration. “Oh, come on!” His skin turned hot red and sweat poured down his face as he charged up another roman candle and fired it straight at the old man. The man’s unwavering demeanor intensified as he knocked the blast to the side with a wave of his hand. As Keiji ran forward, the old man grabbed hold of him and slammed him into the floor with all his might. He let out a sigh of relief. “You fought well, I can respect that. I really do hope you try again next year, as I do see the signs of a hero in you.”

Keiji began to cry. “It can’t be over… I was so close!” The old man sighed as he knelt down, grasping Keiji’s neck. “Now, let’s have that gem.” He forced open Keiji’s palm. His calm demeanor shattered. “It’s gone?!”

BWAAAAAAAAM!

Without any hesitation, Keiji punched the old man as hard as he could with his right arm, knocking him back. He used the momentum to pick himself up and ran towards the end of the corridor and made a hard left. “He deflected my firework this way! Aha!” On the ground was a slightly charred emerald that Keiji immediately dove towards. He held onto it like it was his own child. “Ruuuuuuuun away!”

With his face drenched in sweat, and his body dirty and dusty, he made his way back to delver his payload. The second he deposited it, he fell onto the ground unconscious.

[EVENT] - THE U.A. ENTRANCE EXAM - Page 2 Empty Re: [EVENT] - THE U.A. ENTRANCE EXAM

Post by Nova Major Sat Jul 07, 2018 3:31 am

When the plant-like girl started to laugh after looking down at him, Miguel could only think something. 'Oh shit. Here goes my chance to make a new friend'. No matter if it was just a little chuckle, someone laughing at you is never a good sign. Thats what his cousin Petro always said. And he usually said that while laughing at him. What a jerk. Anyways, the only thing that mattered to him was: What was the reason this time? His clothes? Him looking like he fell face-first into the ground even though he managed to save himself from that humiliation? Whatever, face it like a man.

To his complete surprise, the green girl offered her arm to help him get up, even answering his previous question with a smile. 'I see...' He replied back. 'It must be nice to hang out on this school, after all'. Miguel motioned to grab her arm, but as soon as he moved an inch, the school's doors opened. 'Well, looks like that's our cue' Said the plant girl, spliting her arm into a bunch of vines, who then proceeded to wrap around him and help him stand up again. 'What the-!?' was the only thing Miguel managed to utter before being back on his feet. 'See you after the exam' Said the girl, before winking at him and joining the mass of potential students entering the school.

Taken aback by this, Miguel could only wave at the girl as she went away. 'What a nice girl' He thought, looking at the still decreasing crowd. It took him quite some time to remember that he was also supposed to join that same crowd. 'W-Wait!' He said out loud, running towards the entrance of the school before the doors closed. Following the crowd through the hallways, the young man managed to get into the large lecture hall. Like, extremely large. And filled with what could be described as an obscene amount of chairs. At least they looked quite comfortable. Also, the back of the room had some kind of elevated stage, that got the attention of Miguel as soon as a well dressed woman got up after motioning the examinees to sit on the chairs.

Miguel tried to look for the plant girl and, maybe, just maybe, sit besides her. Who knows, maybe something interesting may come out of it. But his reflexes were so slow that he ended up sitting at a very far corner, way far from the stage and surrounded by a bunch of strange people. 'H-Hi there...' He said, trying to appear as amicable as he could. It wasn't effective, as his soon-to-be companions didn't pay attention to him at all. Miguel felt somewhat relieved once he noticed that the woman's voice could fill effortlessly the whole room. Now those were some damn fine acoustics. After addressing them on what in meant to be a hero, speaking with the tone of what the young man could only identify as a good leader, the woman introduced herself as Sylva Yukimine, the new headmistress of U.A.

Before getting caught in the conversation with the potential new heroes, she motioned to a screen situated behind her, showing some kind of maze, or something that could pretty well be considered one. You know, like the ones you find on newspapers and all that. Though it was pretty obvious that it lacked an exit. She then proceeded to explain how the exam would play out. To summarize, it would take place in a maze just like the one on the screen, and they would have to collect some tokens. Some can be found lying around (Rubies, worth 1 point), others can be obtained by helping civilians (Sapphires, worth 3 points), or by stealing them from villains (Emeralds, worth 5 points). Depending on where did you get them, the tokens have points, and the amount of points needed to pass the exam was 15. Miguel listened carefully to all the instructions, taking mental notes of everything important.

Again, before he could plan how to tackle the test, he was surprised by a sudden and strange petition coming from the headmistress - To don't get up of the chairs. 'Huh' Miguel though as miss Yukimine kneeled while closing her eyes and pressing her fingers on the floor. Covered by a purplish aura, the woman surely had something to do with the strange purple cracks appearing on the floor. The young man didn't see when she returned to the stage, being more worried about the purple-coated floor. And he had good reasons to be, as with a quick motion from miss Yukimine's hand, the floor quickly collapsed on itself, sending the chairs and a bunch of debris that miraculosly didn't hit anyone down into the middle of the underground maze. Miguel wasn't very thrilled about it, hugging his chair as firmly as he could while screaming all the way down. While we could easily take a peek at Miguel's mind about what was he thinking as he fell, it would be better if we don't.

However, he and the rest of the students with reflexes dull enough to remain on their seats and don't find another way down were saved by parachutes strategically hidden on the chairs. Miguel's chair landed in a rather unstable way, tumbling down with him still clinging to it. It was a rather funny image to see. A young man hugging a chair with all his might. Now that deserved to be framed. However, it wasn't as funny as it appeared, as Miguel was just thinking how close he was to death just a few seconds ago. He thought he understood why the U.A. entrance exams were that famous, but the truth was that he didn't understand it one bit. Anyone who still has the strength to do the test after that is surely superhuman. And, in fact, thats what they were.

Miguel thought about using the warp option to retire was, well, the best option. He was clearly way out of his league. The young man was close to warping out of the maze... But he didn't. He wanted to become a hero. And he wouldn't go back on his word before at least giving it a try. No matter how painful and life-threatening the exam could be. As his father always said, it's time to grow a pair. Easier said than done; he didn't have a plan or anything remotely close. Miguel began to formulate one by looking at the the walls of the maze. They were as tall as they could be, preventing shenanigans like climbing and ignoring the point of the labyrinth. Upon closer inspection, the young man noticed that both the walls and the floor were pretty strong. Nigh indestructible, he might say. This filled Miguel with relief, as he didn't want to bring down a wall or something while using his Quirk.

The young man took the opportunity to walk into the maze, keeping and eye out for any ruby he might find. Luckily, he found about 2 the first 20 minutes into the exam, after many, many turns. However, those were 20 minutes from a 60 minute time limit. Also, he was clearly lost as hell, as he stopped seeing or even hearing the rest of the examinees. The plan Miguel resorted to stick to was to collect all the rubies he could find on the grown, and help every civilian he could. While taking on the villians could've been the quickest route to clear the exam, he wasn't that sure on his combat abilities. That, and that he always needed help whenever he wanted to use his Quirk around people. One 30 minutes passed, the only thing Miguel could think was about his family, what were they eating at the moment, and how was the plant girl doing. Probably better than him, thats for sure. 'She was so nice... And she was a plant... Just like the plants I have back at home...' He thought.

Luckily for him, he found just what he needed - A civilian in need. He could very well hear her asking for help. 'Oh boy, yes!' Thought Miguel once he hear the screams. '3 points, here I go!'. He hurried towards the source of the noise, making a right turn just to see what he was expecting. A young woman, in need. What he didn't expect was the kind of situation she was in - Her legs were trapped under some rubble. While taken aback by the situation, Miguel quickly changed to a more heroic approach. 'Don't worry, young lady!' He said, in his worst impersonation of a super man. 'I'm here to save you!'. The only response he got was a rather dissapointed 'Yay' and seeing how the miss lowered her gaze to avoid eye contact. Now that was rude.

Thinking about the difficulty of the exam, Miguel deduced that the rubble was fake and he could pretty well lift it with one hand. He has never been so wrong. He tried to lift the rubble for 5 solid minutes before the lady just told him, still in character, to try to use his Quirk. A single drop of sweat rolled through his cheek as he thought about using his drills. '... Yeeeeeeeah' He said, obviously nervous. The civilian asked Miguel what was his Quirk about, to which he responded it was about... Drills. If looks could kills, that woman would've been charged for murder a long time ago.

Retrating a bit, Miguel took a more firm posture and started to take deep breaths, trying to find the concentration needed to control his arm once it became a drill. Extending his right arm towards the lady and the rubble, the young man gave the mental order to transform his limb. The arm began to twist and spin in a rather grossly manner, covering itself in a metallic alloy coming from seemingly nowhere. To this day, Miguel doesn't know fully how does his Quirk works, he only knows that the result is always the same - A metallic drill in place of his forearm and hand. 'Ok, everything is good so far...' He thought. Once his drill-like arm started the spinning motion, everything changed.

His arm started to move a bit, going up and down before swinging just like a wacky wavy inflatable arm flailing tube man. 'S-Sorry! I'm so sorry, miss!' Shouted Miguel while trying to control his drill with his left hand. Needless to say, the young woman was indeed scared. Once the he managed to get a good grasp of his drill arm, the young man directed it to the rubble. Just barely holding it, Miguel began to approach the increasingly nervous lady, who at this point stopped making any sounds at all. Maybe because it wasn't part of her job as a fake civilian in danger, or just because she was so scared. Slowly and steady, the drill approached the debris, just like if he were performing a surgery. With a more firm thrust, the drill pierced the rubble and broke it down. Once he was done, Miguel returned his arm back to how it was before.

The miss jumped at the first opportunity she had once she was free. Still shaking, the miss quickly tried to regain as much composure as she could and go back to her victim role. That meant, Miguel had to actually carry her back to the center of the maze. She was reluctant though, as she though Miguel's arms would transform into drills out of nowhere. The young man had to reasure her that, while the control of his Quirk wasn't as perfect as he wanted it to be, it also wasn't that wild. The walk back to the middle was surprisingly quick, even if Miguel had to carry the woman on his back all the way. He even found a ruby on the ground, which is nice. Receiving his long awaited sapphire from the miss, the driller resumed his quest. Not before listening to some advice from the miss. Something along the lines off 'You better start controlling your Quirk if you want to become a real hero. You could end up gravely wounding someone'. Miguel turned back to her, but she just shook her head. 'Don't mind me. Good luck kid'.

Recounting, Miguel has 3 rubies, 1 sapphire, and like 30 minutes left. Sweet.

[EVENT] - THE U.A. ENTRANCE EXAM - Page 2 Empty Re: [EVENT] - THE U.A. ENTRANCE EXAM

Shizuka accepted the rubies the girl had picked up for her, and took her hand and got to her feet, "Oh, thanks a bunch!" Shizuka grinned back at the girl with her traditional bubbly happiness, which was matched by Izumi's gentle smile and voice. The girl seemed to exude some kind of feeling that just made Shizuka feel comfortable. The kind of feeling you'd get from a cool big sister or something. She was really pretty, too. Shizuka felt an almost instinctual need to impress her. "I'll be more careful in the future, promise," she said, making a promise she absolutely was going to break sooner or later, "This place is kinda confusing," she admitted, "I don't really know where I'm going. I was just following this trail of rubies on the ground," she said, holding up the rubies in her hands as if that would actually explain anything.

"I'm Shizuka Emi, by the way," Shizuka said, offering Izumi her hand, "I'm always glad to meet someone I'll be taking classes with. What's your name?" Suddenly, Shizuka remembered that they were still on a timer. "Ohmigosh! I totally forgot! The exam is still happening! My bad!" Even if it was only a moment, Shizuka hadn't meant to stall the girl and potentially hurt her time, "Here, I can make it up to you," she said, suddenly imparting Izumi with an adrenaline rush, "You should feel totally pumped up now!" she said, clenching her fists and pumping her arms in front of her for emphasis, "Be careful, though. When that wears off, you might have a teensy-tiny crash."

[EVENT] - THE U.A. ENTRANCE EXAM - Page 2 Empty Re: [EVENT] - THE U.A. ENTRANCE EXAM

Post by Doggo Sat Jul 07, 2018 5:39 am

Hinata seemed confused at first if Shinobu was actually addressing him. The cat couldn't really blame him given they didn't know each other. But that just all the more reason to get to know him now. He'd really run his heart out for this exam as his reply indicated. The boy was so out of breath it made Shinobu wonder if he was gonna make it. Must be pretty new to running to get this messed up by it. But a runner was a runner no matter their experience. He had been keeping a certain distance between them while speaking but his concern took over. He approached and without thinking placed his right hand on Hinata's back. A mild, well mild to the cat boy who was used to shocking himself on the regular, shock passed between them as he did. He winced in pain and hoped he hadn't hurt his new acquaintance too much. Unknown to either, Hinata's dead phone received a small portion of it, giving it a few percent of battery life back.

"H-heh, let's get you a seat man, I'm worried you're gonna drop." he said awkwardly trying to play off the zap. He kept his hand in place so as to avoid another shock. This of course meant they'd build up charge together so the next metal thing Hinata touched was going to be fun. It wasn't a long walk before they found a place to settle and wait out the end of the exam which was soon to come. Shinobu took it upon himself to get the boy some water. It was better than letting him pass out on his way to it himself and it was the cool kind thing to do so it was only natural he would. That and he owed him after shocking him.

"Drink up, you earned it." he said as he handed a bottled water to Hinata. He produced a phone himself from his gym shorts pocket. It seemed to be in a hard rubber case that was leopard print in design. It somewhat matched the designs of his own fur. His paw-like hands looked to have an easy enough time operating the touch screen of the device."That much time left? Maaaan this thing's never gonna end." he moaned. Clearly long waits weren't his thing.

"Well, whatever. Guess we're gonna be seeing each around a lot more from here on out huh?" he questioned as he put his phone away and turned back to Hinata.

----------

Shizuka seemed very excitable, a trait Izumi admired so long as it wasn't excessive. She seemed to take her advice to heart though and that was good enough to start. Her introduction was interrupted by her own realization they were still in the entrance exam. The way she just assumed they'd both pass was cute and Izumi hoped it would prove true. The girl then did something and stated Izumi should feel more pumped up. Indeed her body seemed raring to go, more than she could recall in any of her training. There was a warning of a crash after but the awe of the moment was dominating the experience.

"Woah, this is incredible Shizuka-chan! Is this your quirk?" she exclaimed as she moved her arms about and did a practice kick in the air. "I'm Izumi Ueno. I hope to see after we both pass. If you ever get hurt come find me!" she said with more passion than she intended to. With her mind like this she felt like she could remember her surroundings better. Little details seemed to imprint themselves on her mind more clearly. She looked back to her remaining collection of rubies she was going to be using to form a trail. There were three in total.

"Here, have these for your troubles." she said as she handed the girl the three rubies. "I went into this wanting five sapphires and now I really feel like I can do it! Chaaaarge!" she called out while she began to run. She'd have to remember Shizuka. She really did hope the girl passed. She was nice. And she seemed like she would respond well to a positive role model in her life. But now it was back on the rescue track.

The next civilian Izumi found was in another of the little structures she had seen before but this one was still standing. It came with the added bonus that it was on fire. Or at least the outside of some of the roof seemed to be. It wasn't much more dangerous than sitting by a campfire but the civilian appeared to be imitating a victim of smoke inhalation. Thus it was Izumi's task to carry the woman out of the building and to the exit. With her naturally deceptive strength and the adrenaline boost from Shizuka, she found this task to be rather simple. Despite the detour she seemed to be on pace. She'd be done within forty minutes for sure! Just three sapphires to go!

More rescues! The third came in the form of a man hanging onto the ledge of what looked to be a rather nasty pitfall. Of course he had a place to sort of stand while no one was around and there was a net some ways down. But still! Izumi was able to help him up and escort him to the center of the maze, earning her another sapphire, bringing her total to nine points. And things were still on pace. The fourth rescue came quickly after, she was going to make even better time than she thought. This time it was an injured man from what looked to be a mock construction site accident. It was going to have to be another instance of carrying the person as his leg was made out to be broken. Injured or not though it was Tough Love's time to shine. A green aura built up in Izumi's foot and she delivered a strong kick to the man's leg. The energy transfer was enough to heal something minor but regardless the person seemed to realize what it was her power did and pretended to marvel at how his leg was healed. He then ran with her to the exit, likely thinking she would keep kicking him until he did something of this nature.

This was great! Twelve points and nearly half an hour left. There was no way she was going to go wrong. Until of course everything did. The excess of energy she'd had since her encounter with Shizuka failed on her way to the final rescue. She didn't understand much of what was happening but this was surely the crash she'd been warned about. Izumi cursed under her breath as she leaned up against the labyrinth wall. She was out of breath and struggled to bring herself to move. The minutes marched on for a time as she remained in this pitiful state. Her chances were slipping through her grasp and she knew it. This couldn't go on.

"Not yet!" she called out to no one in particular. She forced herself to stand despite her body's desire to rest. She was glad she had yet to use much healing today. It meant more energy and stamina for her to use. And right now she felt like she'd need it all. Izumi pushed on through the crash, moving a fair bit slower than she had been before. She arrived at her final rescue which was a woman who appeared to be stuck in a makeshift car of sorts. Something like representing an automobile accident if Izumi had to guess. But guessing was less important than getting this exam done. She managed to get the car door open and pulled the woman out despite just wanting to lie down and give up. The woman thanked her as they proceeded toward the exit. Every step felt like it was going to be the last she could take before she needed a break but that wasn't going to happen. She pressed on and was greatly relieved when she was handed her fifth and final sapphire. She then presented them to the proctors and immediately went and found a seat.

A heavy sigh of relief escaped her mouth as she let the fatigue fully set in. A job well done, setbacks aside. Looking at her time though she couldn't help but almost be annoyed. You didn't have to be ocd to appreciate the sentiment.

[EVENT] - THE U.A. ENTRANCE EXAM - Page 2 Empty Re: [EVENT] - THE U.A. ENTRANCE EXAM

Post by Jello Sat Jul 07, 2018 7:48 am

A short pause between his response and the oncoming cat-like figure gave Hinata a startle all on its own. He wasn't used to being openly approached by anyone that wasn't family or an associate of his parents in some way. The one time he'd met one of his sister's boyfriends, they spoke all of maybe a few words before Hinata sneaked away to play video games on his phone in the basement. To put it simply, Hinata wasn't very good at encounters with strangers. Least of all with one's his age, mostly because at least with parents and adults he could listen to them speak and respond aimlessly to whatever adult thing was on the table. Usually questions about school or plans for the future, but with others it was a conversation, a dialogue, and it required his attention to know what the other person was thinking in some way to respond.

In this case it came down to just being friendly. The other student offered Hinata a seat just over the space of the room. He figured he'd probably drop trying to get there but what hit him before that was almost otherworldly. A short clap on the back by the paw of the cat-man and Hinata's world went hazy with pain running through his limbs. It wasn't a particularly long-lasting feeling, but the sting that traveled nearly ankle to neck and sent fuzzies through his head and feet was astounding. The boy was stunned, standing straight up and nearly not breathing for a solid four or five seconds before blinking himself back into reality. The way his body physically jerked on contact was indicative that he was weak to electric-types. As are most fleshy humans.

Following the student to the seats in the corner of the room and taking the water bottle graciously, Hinata gulped down about half of it and took a short, albeit exasperated sigh of relief. He needed that so badly and was glad to have gotten it without having to ask. Another few sips, observing the student more fervently this time and taking a critical eye to their mannerisms. There wasn't a lot to glean off of them at first glance, but Hinata could discern small things about them. For one, they finished fast. At least, they finished before Hinata did and they showed little signs of exhaustion after the fact, meaning they finished a long time ago, were an endurance-type quirk user, or both. In either case, Hinata felt his shortcomings biting him on the ankle a bit, but he discarded the negative thoughts in favor of some more water.

Seeing the boy complain about the remaining time sort of settled Hinata's thoughts a bit. If anyone else came out of the warp after him he'd be grateful to see he wasn't last place at least. The boy felt a buzzing in his own pocket, causing his brows to furrow in confusion. Retrieving his own cracked cell phone out of his pocket, he noticed that he had texts from his mother. Many of them preemptive celebrations and gushing about her pride in her son. If Hinata was embarrassed, it didn't really show on his face. Though what expression did appear was a hand on his chest, gripping his button-down shirt a bit tightly. He clicked his phone off, turning to the boy who helped him out speaking somewhat softly.

"Yeah, I suppose we will." He blinked, then another confused furrowing of brows continued until he realized what he'd been missing from this equation. With a few more awkward seconds passing, Hinata continued. "My name is Hinata, by the way." He remarked somewhat nonchalantly, though his voice generally had this deadpan base, qualities of emotion bore through it occasionally.

[EVENT] - THE U.A. ENTRANCE EXAM - Page 2 Empty Re: [EVENT] - THE U.A. ENTRANCE EXAM

Post by TrueLily Sat Jul 07, 2018 8:09 am

Shizuka gasped and accepted Izumi's rubies excitedly. That brought her total up to eight rubies, and a sapphire, which meant she was only four points away from completing the exam, and so soon too! "Ah! Thanks so much!" Shizuka said, before watching Izumi take off to find more civilians to rescue, "Good luck, Izumi-chan!" she called, waving to her as she retreated. Now then. Thanks to Izumi's kindness, it seemed that the end of Shizuka's exam was already in sight. If she could just find one more ruby and one more civilian to save, she'd already be finished.

Slight problem.

Izumi was already going the way Shizuka was planning on going. If Izumi was going for rescues, Shizuka wouldn't want to steal any from her by accident, so she couldn't go that way. Shizuka turned around and ran back to the center, deciding to instead go down a different path.

Slight problem.

As Shizuka looked around, she realized that she had forgotten which path she went down the first time. She ran up to each of the pathways leading out of the center, trying to determine if she had already gone down that path, but all of the paths looked the exact same to her. She'd already wasted a couple of minutes just standing around looking down pathways, and time was still ticking. She took a deep breath, stood near the center of the clearing, and began spinning around, pointing to each pathway in turn, "Innie-meanie-minnie-moe..." she muttered, deciding that this was the only logical way to decide which path to go down. When she finished, she found herself pointing at a pathway that she could have sworn she recognized. That wasn't the pathway she had just come down, was it? Or the first one? Oh no, there was no time for this! Lady luck said it was this path, so it must be true. And so, Shizuka began running down that path, praying that she had chosen correctly.

As it turned out, Shizuka was indeed lucky. The corridors she was running down seemed completely unfamiliar to her after a while, which was a good sign. After a few minutes of running around, she even found another ruby, bringing her total up to 9 rubies, and her points up to 12. And it seemed as though the remainder of how points would not be too far away, as she heard some cries for help nearby. Rounding the corner, Shizuka saw a woman tied to a set of... railroad tracks?! The tracks didn't even go anywhere! They just went from one wall to the other! This was getting ridiculous. Nonetheless, Shizuka ran over and knelt next to the woman. Giving her some words of encouragement to spike her energy, Shizuka helped untie her, loosening the ropes enough that the adrenaline-boosted woman could tear herself out of them. Shizuka took her hand and started to lead her back to the center.

Slight problem.

Shizuka wasn't one-hundred sure she knew which way she had come from. "Um..." she looked back and forth between the paths, "I'm pretty sure it's... this way?" she said, taking the woman down the path. Shizuka was pretty confident her guess was right. No way she could have gotten lost. Nope. As it turns out, that wasn't quite true. Shizuka ended up getting quite turned around in the maze, and it ended up taking her at least five more minutes than it should have to get back to the entrance.

Oops.

Regardless, Shizuka obtained her sapphire, and her point total was brought to 15. She stepped through the warp point and turned her gems in to the proctors proudly.

STATS:
Points Collected: 15/15
Rubies (1) collected: 9
Sapphires (3) collected: 2
Emeralds (5) collected: 0
Recorded time: 39:23.50

A few minutes later, Izumi warped in as well. From the looks of it, she'd gotten the five sapphires she wanted in the end. She also looked incredibly exhausted. That checked out. Her adrenaline rush must've worn off by now. Such was the drawback of Shizuka's quirk. Still, Shizuka was excited to see her, and waved to her cheerfully, "Izumi-chan!" she called, rushing up to the kind girl, and moving to the seat next to her, turning in her chair to be facing her, "Awesome, I knew you'd make it!" she said, "You, uh, look a bit worn out though," she noted, grinning sheepishly, "sorry, my quirk tends to have that kind of effect on people. I hope it helped you out a little bit, though!"

[EVENT] - THE U.A. ENTRANCE EXAM - Page 2 Empty Re: [EVENT] - THE U.A. ENTRANCE EXAM

Post by Doggo Sat Jul 07, 2018 6:37 pm

"... Oh right, names." Shinobu said as if having an epiphany at Hinata's introduction. That was typically an important part of meeting people was to introduce yourself. But there was something much more important to be done. He had to make a good impact on his peer. "My name's Shinobu! And don't you go forgetting it. Years from now you're gonna be able to tell people how you met the world's greatest hero!" he exclaimed as he shot up from his seat, a triumphant fist held up as his gaze shot to the sky. His tail's motions became much more hyperactive behind him as he got into it. He really seemed to believe it. Or at least he was good at psyching himself up with it.

"'Course I expect you and the others who make it to try and fight me on that." he said a bit more calmly. He slid back into his seat with a grin stuck to his face. But then something else crossed his mind. "Oh and uh... sorry for the shock earlier. I know better than to touch people without discharging on something else first. Totally my bad." he said as his puffed up posture shrank a bit. He'd tried to ignore it but it felt best to own up to the mistake and seek forgiveness.

----------

A familiar voice sounded not long after Izumi took her seat. Shizuka rushed to her side. It seems the girl had beaten her back. That might have made someone else upset but not Izumi. What mattered was they had both passed. It made her happy. She wanted the class to be full of kind people who wanted to really make a difference as heroes. If the girl before her didn't quite meet that expectation there was little worry about as she had the kind part down. The rest would come naturally with time. And with a bit of guidance, of course.

"Don't worry, your quirk's amazing Shizuka-chan. I'd never felt so ready to go in all my life." she said with a bit of a laugh. "The crash did take a few minutes to deal with, but then I was making better time than I had expected before that so I think in the end it balanced out pretty well." she said, trying to keep from pointing out that had her own quirk not provided her with an excess of stamina she might still be in the exam, unable to move. Pointless details really, no reason to worry the girl.

"More importantly, it looks like you did pretty well too. I'm so glad you passed! You didn't trip yourself up as you kept going did you?"

[EVENT] - THE U.A. ENTRANCE EXAM - Page 2 Empty Re: [EVENT] - THE U.A. ENTRANCE EXAM

Post by TrueLily Sun Jul 08, 2018 4:23 am

Shizuka was happy to hear that Izumi had managed to power through the crash, and was quite proud to receive her praise. In the past, she hadn't gotten to use her quirk much, and she was wondering how much it would actually help. Even if it didn't do much for Shizuka in the exam, she was really happy to hear that it might have helped Izumi even a little bit. In the back of her mind, Shizuka wondered if the other girl she helped had finished the exam yet or not. She didn't see her anywhere in the room, but it was always possible she had just left to go do something else. She seemed pretty strong, so Shizuka was confident she'd pass, if she hadn't already.

Shizuka was shaken out of this train of thought by Izumi's question. "Trip myself up?" she repeated, with a bit of a nervous laugh, "Nope! Er, well... I might have gotten myself... a teensy-tiny bit lost. A couple of times." She laughed off her embarrassment, "I've got a little bit of a bad memory," she admitted, "but that didn't stop me from passing!" Shizuka's memory wasn't the only part of her mind that wasn't exactly great, and that probably wasn't a great trait for a hero to have, but Shizuka's ceaseless optimism blocked out this fact.

[EVENT] - THE U.A. ENTRANCE EXAM - Page 2 Empty Re: [EVENT] - THE U.A. ENTRANCE EXAM

Post by Jello Sun Jul 08, 2018 5:34 pm

Hinata quieted himself, resigning to a few more sips of his water bottle as Shinobu gave way to introduction. Something about what he said, becoming the 'world's greatest hero', made Hinata deflate a bit in his seat. Not so much that he seemed to be visibly put down or estranged by the phrase, but there was some kind of feeling about someone declaring themselves worthy of that title without having proved it. Or perhaps they did and Hinata was simply overlooking that fact. After all, Shinobu was here way before Hinata was. If nothing, he proved he's more capable than Hinata at a timed testing situation and even if that was only one slim factor to the whole schematic of becoming a hero, it was one thing out of the way that Hinata would never be able to recover lost points in. The very thought had him silenced for the moment.

Shinobu's challenge to try and recover that title was less inviting after Hinata had already gotten lost in his head but he nodded affirmatively in response to keep the conversation going, his eyes sort of vacantly examining the room. His attention returned when Shinobu addressed him personally again with an apology about the shock. Hinata shook his head briefly, waving a free hand off the bottle of water. "It's fine." His tone possibly betrayed the meaning of his words but it was so difficult to tell with the boy what he meant that taking the words at face value was anyone's best bet instead of trying to read things like sarcasm off of him. He wasn't expressive enough for sarcasm. Or jokes.

He finished the last of the water, checking the dying battery on his phone one last time before clicking it to sleep and resting it in his pocket for safe keeping once more. Another face or two came through the warp as Hinata turned to Shinobu with a similar monotonous expression. "It's going to take a lot more than an hour test to determine who the greatest hero will be, I think." Hinata's face, while not exactly susceptible to malleability through emotion, did have a tinge of something. The muscles in his face were a bit tighter. The teeth in his mouth were ever so slightly grit. He too was determined to test his mettle in the ring of hero and one day enter those annals of history himself. It wasn't so steeled as the resolve of most he was certain, but he knew if he had even an inkling of desire for it, he couldn't half-ass caring about it either.

[EVENT] - THE U.A. ENTRANCE EXAM - Page 2 Empty Re: [EVENT] - THE U.A. ENTRANCE EXAM

It was good to hear that Shizuka wasn't hurt from her adventures in the exam. Izumi didn't know that she'd have it in her to heal anyone for a good long while so that was less guilt to live with. She couldn't help but laugh as the girl talked about getting lost a few times and pressing through to pass regardless. It was such a carefree approach to things. Charge in, help people you meet, do what's expected, think about details later. Maybe that's what being a young teenage girl was supposed to feel like. It felt odd for the girl who even now was already thinking about her little sister having only been gone a number of hours to take the exam. Maybe it'd do her some good to adjust her thinking to be more like the walking adrenaline rush before her.

"Say, Shizuka-chan. What made you come to UA today? I hear all sorts of generic reasons students would want to come here but so little of it's felt real to me. Another would-be hero's take on it might just be what I'm looking for." came Izumi's inquiry. She hoped in some way this would get the conversation past the typical pleasantries of a first meeting and get to more of the core of Shizuka's character. It served multiple purposes. Izumi wished to know what the hearts of her fellow applicants were like. What sort of heroes did they want to become and why? But more it could prove to be the foundation of a strong friendship. A lone hero could only do so much. When connected to others they do so much more. In a small way this exchange was preparation for that. The friends they would make at school would be important connections for the future of the hero world.

If Hinata was actually still mad about the jolt earlier, it was difficult to tell. His face didn't seem to give a lot away. But then he had been really tired out of the exam so it made sense he might not have it in him to emote much. More interesting was what the boy said next. This test on its own couldn't possibly decide the title of greatest hero. It wasn't obvious but Shinobu saw the boy's face tighten as he spoke the words. There was an energy beneath those words. A fighting spirit that was trying to slip through. The cat boy knew competition when he saw it.

"Alright, alright, alright! I like it! You're right! The greatest can't just be fast, he's gotta be everything! And you want it too, I know it." the boy exclaimed while jumping to his feet again. There was a challenge to be had. "So name your game Hinata. I'll take on anyone in anything! I'll give it everything I've got, even if I'm no good at it!" he continued, a child-like energy building up in him. He excitedly stared at his future classmate and rival, wondering what sort of incredible challenge he would issue. He didn't want something he was blatantly superior in. Being faster than people was a given. He wanted a real struggle. A clash of wills and spirits. It was the manly thing to do.

Keiji awoke startled and on edge. He shouted at the top of his lungs. “YOU WANT ANOTHER ONE, OLD MAN?!” He took a moment to think, then looked at his surroundings and laughed. “Oh, that’s right, I got out! Must’ve been a bad dream.” He looked down at his skin and frowned. Even after his short nap, his skin was still quite red. He grabbed his water bottle and downed the whole thing in a matter of several seconds. “Ahhhhhh… you’re a life saver, Minako!”

With a huge grin Keiji stretched out his arms towards the sky. “Yeah, I passed!” He started to conjure some of his trademark Sparklers to celebrate the occasion, but nothing came out. “Wow, that really did take a lot out of me.” He wiped his face of sweat. “Ow.” He winced in pain and his hand started shaking. It was slightly bruised and blackened from the earlier uses of his quirk. His leg and torso were also bruised, albeit less so. “I don’t intend to explode myself regularly, so I shouldn’t worry too much about these.” He laughed it off and walked outside.

After stepping foot back outside his eyes widened. “It’s so hot….” After a quick look around, he noticed a tree just a hop, skip, and jump away. He walked over to the tree and peacefully lied down in its welcoming shade. He was a moment away from closing his eyes and facing asleep again when he noticed a green woman lying in the grass.

He jumped up and his eyes sparkled. “Oh my gosh, it’s the one with the plant quirk! You gotta show me what you can do with it! O-oh, you must be thirsty! Hold on, I’ll be right back with some water!” Without even a moment’s hesitation, Keiji ran back to the building and found a fountain to refill his bottle, then dashed back outside. His excitement to talk to new people with crazy quirks dulled the pain in his body. “Here, drink up!” He smiled as he set the bottle beside her.

[EVENT] - THE U.A. ENTRANCE EXAM - Page 2 Empty Re: [EVENT] - THE U.A. ENTRANCE EXAM

Shizuka put a finger to her chin and made a humming noise, "Why come to U.A.?" she repeated, searching her brain for a suitable answer. There were a few reasons. The first few that sprang to Shizuka's mind were very plain or generic, like Izumi had said. Shizuka didn't want to say something like that, even if she earnestly believed in something as simple as "I just want to help people." So she had to dig deeper, get to the core of what really made her want to be a hero. "Well," she started, "I guess you could say I have an inspiration. A hero of my own that I want to live up to," she explained. "When I was younger, I wasn't very happy, until I met this girl named Kotone, who became my best friend and totally turned my life around. It's 'cuz of her that I'm the way I am today," she said, smiling sweetly as she thought of her friend, "I always appreciated what she did for me, and thought it was so amazing how she was able to help me and inspire me like that. I wanted to be like that for other people. I wanted to pay it forward. I want to be an inspiration for others, and to help people when they need it most!" she said enthusiastically, her hands balled up in front of her to show her determination, "U.A. has made a lot of heroes like that. Real inspirations. Like Deku, or Uravity," she said. Suddenly, her eyes seemed to fill with stars, "Oh! Or Earphone Jack!" she said, filled with energy seemingly from nowhere, "Heroes like her have been inspirations to all kinds of people! To me, too! I came to U.A. because I want to be like that!"

Then, she giggled, "It might sound a bit silly, but that's the truth." Then, she asked, "What about you, Izumi-chan? What made you want to come here?"

-----------------------------------

Yuri was suddenly alerted to the presence of another person in the yard with her. A rather enthusiastic boy had seemed to come outside and take notice of her. It even seemed like he had recognized her. Not that that surprised Yuri. She stood out like a sore thumb. Or a green thumb, perhaps. She was used to being the center of attention, so having another student remember her was nothing new. At this point, she had soaked up enough sunlight and nutrients that her energy had mostly returned, so she sat up and waited for the boy to return.

When he did, Yuri took the bottle he offered and opened it, giving him a nod of appreciation before guzzling it down. She made a satisfied sound before setting the bottle back down, feeling much better now that she had totally fueled up, "Thanks much," she said, "I really needed that." She stood up to meet the boy's gaze, "You wanted to see what my quirk could do? I suppose there's no harm in showing off a little bit." She turned and walked over to the wall surrounding the schoolyard, and suddenly, her legs began to grow, stretching until her upper body reached the top of the wall. She climbed on, taking a seat on the wall, then retracting her legs. Then, without saying a word or waiting for a reaction, she stretched her arm out to the boy, her arm turning into a series of vines, which wrapped around the boy's waist and hauled him up to the wall as well. Yuri made a point of loosening her grip enough that it would almost feel like she was about to drop him near the end. Had to keep these new people on their toes, of course. Plus, she just enjoyed seeing their reactions. In the end, though, she safely deposited the boy on the wall next to her.  She chuckled lightly to herself, "Yuri Matsumoto, by the way," she introduced herself, staring over the schoolyard rather than looking at the boy, "You are?"

Keiji followed the girl with a stupid grin on his face. As she used her quirk to climb to the top of the wall, his mouth opened wide. “SO COOL!” His eyes were fixed now on a vine that she brought down and wrapped around him. With the greatest of ease, she lifted him up and hoisted him high. “Wow, this quirk looks super useful! It gives you great range and let’s you trap opponents! Not only that but you’re also strong enough to lift me w- WAAAH!” He slipped slightly out of the vines when Yuri loosened her grip. Even after she had re-tightened her grip, Keiji held on to her vines for dear life. “Ahh.. haha… ahaha….” He chuckled nervously as he ascended.

When she set him on the wall, Keiji let out a sigh of relief. “Hey, so my name is Keiji! Nice to meet you, Yuri!” He saw that her gaze was fixed on the schoolyard and he looked back over as well. His mind wandered for a moment as he began to imagine all the great heroes and people he'd meet throughout his life as a student. “That was a really intense test, but I guess it’s only a taste of what we’re gonna get when we start doing actual hero work.” He looked back at her with a smile “I didn’t see you when we were in the maze. I just barely made it in the end, but how did you do?”

[EVENT] - THE U.A. ENTRANCE EXAM - Page 2 Empty Re: [EVENT] - THE U.A. ENTRANCE EXAM

Hinata visibly blinked a solid number of times at Shinobu's request of a challenge. He regretted saying something so embarrassing with such a holier than thou forthrightness. His head tilted quizzically, wondering if he should even consider trying to compete with this guy on anything. Physical activity less than suited Hinata in any form, be it strength, speed or endurance. But then, Shinobu said to name his game. Any game? Hinata had a lot of games he could name that would be interesting to test one another on, though they were less competitions of physical capability and more...

"... Tetris Effect?"

The boy's eyes perked up slightly from his downtrodden state and had a slight sheen to them, a sort of amber afterglow softly humming in post-exam room. Hinata was more than confident at video games, especially puzzles and strategy games. He'd spent so long analyzing these games that even ones he'd never played before came second nature to him since they generally followed similar styles and bases to previous games to function. Tetris was an old time classic but playing the old game would feel kind of boring for Shinobu, Hinata expected, so an updated graphics system and a pair of virtual reality goggles might spice things up enough for them to both enjoy the challenge. "Virtual reality puzzle block video game." Hinata nodded with affirmation. That was his game and he stood up from his seat, now facing the fellow student on equal footing. "Is that okay?" Hinata didn't want to pick a game that Shinobu wouldn't consider giving his all on as well, and even if he said it could be anything, he wanted to reaffirm that this was a suitable challenge for the both of them.

[EVENT] - THE U.A. ENTRANCE EXAM - Page 2 Empty Re: [EVENT] - THE U.A. ENTRANCE EXAM

Post by Kisaragi Mon Jul 09, 2018 6:47 pm

Rihan adjusted his tie and color to release the grip they had around his neck. The day was a rather searing hot day, probably should've thought twice and checked the weather before dressing up, but as he couldn't pass up not looking presentable during his first time in UA. Sweat drops rained down from his forehead, drowning into his shirt making it look like he was wearing a spotted shirt. He proceeded to take a sharp turn at the first spot of shade at an alleyway.

"And just think, I have to spend the entire entrance exam sweating while looking and fighting for these..." a drop of sweat shattered on top of shiny object lying on the floor. He approached with caution, hoping it wasn't a trap and pinched the red piece bringing it above him. "Rubies." Finding one on the ground like that was extremely lucky for him but then again, they are the most common pieces scattered about. However, this sparked an idea from Rihan before placing his one into his pocket.

"I don't think I can use anything beyond this in this stuffy humidity." Rihan stepped on the concrete that stood as a platform above the cement floor. His arms and fingers spread in front of him as water started to drip from his hands like a faucet. He gave a loud shout as the water went from drips to a full stream that sprayed against the walls and floor of the surrounding area, flood the alleyway. After a good five minutes, Rihan noticed the water started to rise in height, matching the platform he was standing on but he also noticed that trash and debris within his surroundings started being pulled in the direction outside of the alleyway. Boxes, trash cans, drenched papers, Styrofoam, and other lost and abandoned waste going with the flow of his torrent. After everything was cleared, he exhaled a small wind from his mouth in which the palms of his hand had ceased the water work. He stepped onto the floor, each footstep making a series of splashes within the puddle of water before he went back out into the street that was now just a little steamy due to the heat of the sun and the ground making contact with Rihan's water. Rihan examined the ground of all of the junk that swam out and his attention saw four more red pieces scattered.

"Not bad!" he said with his arms folded together, seeing that his clever plan worked. He reached forward to pick up the other rubies and slid them into his pocket, netting him a total of five Rubies.

"Five down, ten more to go." He said as he walked away even more drenched than he was before but a lot more cooler now that the water has set into his clothes.

[EVENT] - THE U.A. ENTRANCE EXAM - Page 2 Empty Re: [EVENT] - THE U.A. ENTRANCE EXAM

Post by Doggo Mon Jul 09, 2018 7:11 pm

"What about me? Well..." Izumi trailed off at Shizuka's return of her question. She'd listened intently as the girl mentioned an inspiration. An individual that to her embodied what a hero was. And in her mind UA aligned with that idea. Other famous heroes that had come from UA were part of her drive as they were for many. However it was strange to hear such enthusiasm around Earphone Jack. Deku she would have understood but there seemed to be something about Shizuka herself at play there. Still she was almost saddened to hear the motivation. Not because it didn't show genuine good in the girl's heart but because it showed an innocent look at the world of heroes. One that would one day be challenged or crushed. The more her thoughts stirred the more Izumi's gaze seemed to go beyond her new acquaintance and off into the void. But she brought herself back into things before long.

"Well, there's something I need to do. A promise that I have to keep." she started with a sigh. Izumi ran a hand through her long green hair and pushed it behind her back in the process as she thought of how to proceed. "To do it I need to be a pro hero. But I can't just settle for being any old pro hero. I've gotta be as close to the top as I can be. And it's a fact of life that the top comes out of here." she concluded. To her it was a very logical thing. To get to the top one had to go to UA. There was no question about it.

"That doesn't sound as nice as being inspired by a friend or a good hero I know but that's how it goes..."

----------

"Tetris?" Shinobu questioned, tilting his head similarly to how Hinata earlier at the issuing of the challenge. He knew Tetris. He didn't know this Tetris Effect. But what other details the boy offered sealed the deal. "Virtual reality puzzles huh? You're on!" the cat exclaimed. He wasn't entirely unfamiliar with video games. In fact he openly enjoyed action games with his brothers and secretly things like visual novels or narrative-driven things. Puzzle games would be a new experience but he couldn't back down now. He'd probably get the hang of it pretty quick he figured. He was justly proud of his fast fingers though they did not always bring with them perfectly coordinated game play.

"So," he started, an excited smirk dominating his face. "When and where we doing this? I'll have to get some stuff to make sure I don't fry your gear on accident but if you couldn't tell," he said proudly displaying what was visible of his cheetah-like markings on his fur, "I'm pretty fast." He seemed to be implying he'd gladly run home now to have the showdown today. Perhaps a bit bold given the exam wasn't finished yet and Hinata was probably still tired. But the challenge had been issued and accepted with the terms set. From here on out it was going to be in the forefront of his mind.

[EVENT] - THE U.A. ENTRANCE EXAM - Page 2 Empty Re: [EVENT] - THE U.A. ENTRANCE EXAM

Post by Tulf12 Tue Jul 10, 2018 12:29 am

While humiliation flooded Yuuki’s mind from his pitiful cry for help; something else very quickly took priority – finally, his back leg gave out; twisting beneath the weight of the continued blows… w-what was going to happen next? Did the fake-villains actually… b-beat them up? Fear buzzed through his mind as he tumbled backward; his beloved sword bouncing out of his grip and skittering across the stone as his defence crumbled entirely. He was sure it’d been chipped by all that… his mom would probably be furious…! Holding up his hands in front of his face in a desperate final attempt at saving himself, he… h-huh?

Blinking in confusion between the gaps in his fingers, he saw something unbelievable.

“Are you… a hero…?”

The words slipped from his lips by accident as he saw the scene – a beautiful heroine with a might sword… err, or maybe just a tanto; cutting through his fears as a matter of course. The reality of the situation was far less glamourous, but right now – Yuuki was in no state to even comprehend making a complaint. Expressions danced across his features; confusion, astonishment, hope… so, this was what all those stories were about. This feeling… what it meant to have a hero. Just like mom…

Upon hearing her words of reassurance, Yuuki’s heart jumped; and he leapt back to his feet. He was here to become a hero, so he couldn’t act like this! Finally, his mind was back online – plans zipped through his brain like lightning. The oni had certainly been thrown off by the interception, but he wouldn’t have long… in fact, he could see muscles tensing, even through the suit – wrist, the club being pulled back… the club! H-He only had one shot, then!

Rushing towards the would-be villain, Yuuki looked like he was just going to do a particularly unwise attempt at a head-on fight; not even bracing himself for an initial counterattack. The oni man certainly figured as much, rearing back and preparing his spare hand to punish such recklessness; especially from such a tiny boy – but, that rush never came. Instead, his club gained a tiny bit of weight… the kid was clinging to it? An even worse plan… raising an eyebrow and hesitating, the man just raised the weapon with Yuuki being dragged along with it, and –

“Owow! Geez, I should’ve guessed…” With such a complaint and a heavy clang, the club toppled; buzzing with electricity… and leaving everyone involved in a bit of an awkward state. Yuuki, wheezing from even such a small output of electricity; on his knees along with the club’s end; and Virtua, trembling as she played hero… and the oni, staring at all this; not without a weapon. He could probably wail on them all the same, but... was there really a point now…?

Yes… he was here to test them – holding back now was meaningless. Raising his fists, the oni stepped back into a fighting position. One could just about see Yuuki’s heart sink from the sheer expression on his face; clearly having expected his quirk to be enough to handle the would-be villain. Hastily getting onto his feet, the boy tried to strike a matching fighting pose; but without his sword he looked a bit pathetic given his stature. His state only grew far worse as the oni lunged at his closest target – with nary a grunt; much less a roar; he darted towards the boy, fist streaking through the air…

The blow whiffed, but at a big cost for Yuuki – the boy had to throw his whole body out of the way in order to move in time; tumbling into an awkward roll; and being left panting once he got back to his feet. It certainly didn’t look like the boy’s quirk was going to be a threat in a state like that, so the oni turned his attention to his other foe… still armed, but could a girl like that really pose a serious threat? Kids with quirks were always a surprise, but it could even be some support nonsense for all he knew. Aah, he kinda felt bad right now.

To his surprise, though; he saw Yuuki scramble to her side instead – taking her hand hastily, but with the very recognisable hesitation of a meek high-schooler who just realised what they were doing, the boy gave a quick reassuring nod. “I-I’ve still got more; b-but don’t panic! This is for you…!” While such cutesy words didn’t really help his looks right now, his desperate state probably wouldn’t make the motion concern Virtua too much… beyond normal adolescent awkwardness, anyway. With a faint buzz around his palms, the girl would feel energy rush through her – not quite like a flood; but more like a caffeine or endorphin hit. Not overwhelming, but at least energising… but, that metal within her, perhaps even while dormant, would certainly find some further potential from such a bioelectric charge…

[EVENT] - THE U.A. ENTRANCE EXAM - Page 2 Empty Re: [EVENT] - THE U.A. ENTRANCE EXAM

Post by Best Girl Tue Jul 10, 2018 2:04 am

"Are you... a hero?"

... I-I don't know... Virtua just did what felt right, even if it wasn't logically so. To someone who would even ask that question, she must have looked as if she dashed in with her ponytail briskly fluttering in the wind. A girl with a weapon about as useful as a pocket knife against superhumans rushing to one's aid... As exciting as that image was, her wavy smile and shaky body combined with the sweat at her brow sure didn't feel as heroic as it sounded. Well, best to keep rolling with it! They can take the oni demon volunteer... probably...! Before the girl could process the makings of a plan, Yuuki had already sped off to the pretend-villain winding his club back. Her instincts told her to follow, but the sword-wielding hero candidate did something odd: the boy had grabbed onto the club... and promptly got hit when the wielder slung it anyway. What was he expecting...? Was it something from his quirk that was supposed to stop the swing? At the very least it got the club out of his hand, which helped her relax and give a quiet cheer. "With that-!" But the small victory was short-lived as the professional had no issue attacking with his fists that Yuuki narrowly dodged.

Within a blur of actions, Vivi felt heat connect to her hand, which made her look over curiously. Yuuki - no... a boy... grabbed her hand...! The rush of adolescent awkwardness came through as her reddening like a tomato, but he reassured her and something... coursed through her? The swordswoman's eyes bulged as a surge of energy washed over, feeling it mix with the roaring flames of mind. This... This was most likely his quirk, so his earlier plan could have been to throw off the oni with this! How? She didn't know and she didn't have time to understand the complete workings of her comrade's ability.

So, she took this chance to accept that there was no passing the exam without use of her own. "R-Right! Thank you! In that case...!" It was regrettable to have people see it... Even so, the girl held up her open palm once retracting it from Yuuki's grip, revealing the growth scar that represented the heritage of an amazing power. Razor in other hand, the woman grit her teeth and rend the scar with the sharp metal, able to withstand the pain and gushing blood through the sugar rush-esque boost from her ally and the sudden morphing of her entire arm. Skin blackened, gradually hardening and matching colors with the uniform's sleeve while light gleamed in its reflection. The entire limb transformed into a sword as the sprayed crimson had been absorbed into the blade, brandished by the would-be hero.

Bladelength revealed itself, but in the grasp of the heiress to be the lineage of Tensalength.

"Oh, what's this-" The well-dressed gent said in a bit of surprise, but he found himself quickly needing to be on guard as Virtua had darted toward him. "What-" The blade flashed with orangeish energy, crackling with electricity as a showing of the adrenaline pumped into it from Yuuki's shock. It grew longer in an instant, having its razor-sharp tip grind at the floor while Vivi was able to near-completely ignore the burning sensation through the drag as she slashed the suit-wearing brute. Then, before being able to respond, a flurry of cuts shred parts of his attire. "Wha-" Still unable to complete dialogue, the pro hero was able to just barely grab his club as the heiress lunged forward. The blade - her arm - pierced through the metal weapon in a stabbing motion, nearly reaching his face.

"Ah!" This was a bad spot! She stopped just barely but now her arm was lodged within the thing! The professional had the same thought that she dreaded, already moving to sling her about with the armament; lifting it and the heroine into he air. However, thinking quickly, the black steel flung itself to the side - Vivi thrust her arm sideways and tore through the club, destroying its bludgeoning edge and leaving it a broken heap of metal shrapnel.

"My CLUB!" He howled in a panic as Vivi was falling backward.

"I-I got his weapon...!" The girl said with relief, looking back toward her brother-in-arms.

"Ha... I may have underestimated you both..." A combined effort caught him offguard, but just as before when Yuuki forced him to get his hands dirty, the oni hero's fingers curled one-by-one into a fist.

[EVENT] - THE U.A. ENTRANCE EXAM - Page 2 Empty Re: [EVENT] - THE U.A. ENTRANCE EXAM

Post by TrueLily Tue Jul 10, 2018 7:08 am

Shizuka shook her head vigorously, "No, that sounds great!" she assured Izumi, "A promise is important! If you make a promise, you gotta keep it, no matter what!" she said, gesturing emphatically. Despite nearly breaking her promise to Izumi less than an hour ago, Shizuka firmly believed in the importance of promises. "I think it's really great that you'd go so far for a promise," Shizuka said, seemingly oblivious to the cold nature of Izumi's words. Shizuka couldn't quite comprehend the logical, detached view of U.A. and the world of heroes that Izumi held. And she didn't for a moment question what kind of promise Izumi had made that would require her to be a top hero, or to whom she made it to. Her innocence and optimism carried her along carelessly as she smiled sweetly at her new friend. "In fact," Shizuka added, "why don't we make another promise, to celebrate both of us passing?" Shizuka stuck her pinky finger out to Izumi, "Let's promise to do our best and both become great heroes, together!"

----------------------------------------

"Just barely made it, hm?" Yuri repeated, "You know only the fastest 36 applicants actually get in, yes? I certainly hope that still includes you," she said. Then she smirked, "As for me, I finished in just under thirty minutes, with five sapphires. Not half bad if I do say so myself," she boasted. There were certainly people who had done better than her, but she was quite proud of how she had performed, given the circumstances. Had the test been outdoors, she was certain she would have done even better. Possibly even one of the best. But maybe that was just her ego speaking. She put a hand to her mouth and snickered, "As for you though," she said, shifting her gaze to look at Keiji from the corner of her eye, "if this test really was just a taste of what's to come, you might be a bit worried about future. Just barely finishing doesn't bode well." She probably shouldn't have been tormenting the boy about his poor time so much, but almost couldn't help it, "I hope you're preparing. Wouldn't want to drop out after just barely getting in, hm?"

[EVENT] - THE U.A. ENTRANCE EXAM - Page 2 Empty Re: [EVENT] - THE U.A. ENTRANCE EXAM

Post by Jello Tue Jul 10, 2018 8:09 pm

Hinata honestly hadn't gotten so far as to consider the specifics of the proposed challenge, which was uncharacteristic of him since he was usually quite well-prepared for most things. He had the game at his own house with a pair of VR headsets that he and his sisters used to play other games when they were bored during the summers. But, Shinobu did have a very good point. The way he shocked him earlier at a touch did send chills up and down the boy's spine... and every else. In fact, he never asked but was kind of curious.

"About that. Is that part of your quirk?" Hinata gently raised a brow, not so much in skepticism but more to prompt the question. Passing it off as a discharge of static electricity was one thing, but the sheer blast was enough to send Hinata reeling in pain if he weren't already in a near paralyzed state at the time from exhaustion. Even now he was still physically tired, just a bit more stabilized than before. Walking on his feet was a chore and his eyes had that tired slump hanging in them. Then, as if he'd forgotten about the question entirely, Hinata shook himself back to reality. "Sorry, that was rude to interject. I don't know what you'll need, but I have the game." He rubbed the back of his head, looking over the exam departing area to see that most people were still hanging around, likely awaiting a word from the proctor before they were to be dismissed. Missing that might be a bit bad. "We can play when the exam ends, yeah? I live just over the Kanda River in Suginami. I can text you my address—"

Hinata absentmindedly put his hand out, addressing Shinobu to hand him his cell phone, having completely forgotten he'd just met this stranger. His face seemed to go somewhat stiff as he quieted himself, blinking at the cat-like figure in front of him. "..." He seemed to be unresponsive.

Izumi's contemplative mood was broken down by Shizuka's consistent energy. Whether she really thought so much of making and keeping promises was another thing. But then nothing so far gave the green-haired girl reason to doubt the sincerity of her acquaintance. Her enthusiasm was bordering on infectious which would be a hard thing indeed to fake. With a smile she interlocked her pinky with Shizuka's, accepting the promise presented to her.

"It's a promise." she said happily as they shook on it. Izumi couldn't help but be reminded of her younger sister. Shizuka couldn't have been that much younger than her but the innocent world view was very familiar. She knew this girl needed protecting from the crueler realities of the world. And so far as she was able, Izumi intended to do just that. She wanted people like Shizuka and her sister to be able to dream and live out those dreams without the ugliness of society rearing its head.

"We've got a long road ahead from here but we've taken the first step." she spoke next. "And remember what I said in the maze. If you ever get hurt you can always come find me." she smirked as a green aura flashed about her feet for a moment.

While a natural question, Shinobu hadn't expected to be asked about his quirk. He hadn't thought to ask Hinata about his so the ideas hadn't crossed his mind. But then it made sense, mutated as he was, that this would come up quickly. But before he could answer the boy apologized, thinking it rude to ask him about the shocks. More importantly he was ready to have the challenge after the exam, offering to text him his address. The cat dug into his pocket and produced his phone again to hand to the boy who seemed to cut himself off as he stared sort of blankly at him.

"Yeah that'd be good." he started as he placed his phone into Hinata's hand, careful not to touch him on accident. He was going along with things as if this was fairly normal for him. And certainly it was fairly normal for him to meet people, get to know them, challenge them to things, exchange contact info and end up decent friends. But it was also clear to him this sort of thing wasn't normal to Hinata so he wanted to keep calm and just move along to let the boy know things were alright."And hey no sweat. You've been hit by it you deserve to know. You can see the obvious part of my quirk but with it my body's always building up static charge. I've been shocked and shocked other people more times than I can count." he said as he stretched his arms some. "We learned pretty quick off that me and electronics don't mix very well so there's gotta be rubber or something on the device or my hands." he continued while pointing the rubber case around his phone in Hinata's hand.

"So, Suginami huh? That ain't too far away." he said commenting on the location the boy had started to describe. Nothing felt too far away to a person who didn't need a car to get places fast though. "I'm in Kita myself. Fairly close to the big ol' park and stuff. Wonder how long that run'd be..." he trailed off. He placed a hand on his face as if casually scratching it would help him think. His tail began flailing around a bit too. A new path to run was always exciting and he loved giving himself a time to beat.
