[ Dorm Room 9 is closest to the door, on the left hand side. The dorm belongs to Souma and Kizuki. ]

DORM ROOM 9 1_zps4bimxtv3
The doors to the dorm room opened as a young boy entered with a dead stare towards the center of the room. Pocketing the slip of paper that he used to locate the room, he walked inside and looked around, assessing the situation he got himself into. There were two beds which quickly suggested that he was going to share this room. Being first, he had the right to choose which side he would take, that in itself was enough of a benefit to make him forget about the uncomfortable sharing of rooms.

"This shouldn't be too hard. Now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure they mentioned I had a roommate. Who was it again?" he murmured to himself as he headed over towards one of the beds in a corner. The further away from where people would frequent, the better.

He laid his belongings on the floor next to the bed and sat down on the bed to test its comfort. It was nothing to be ashamed of, as expected of U.A. He had enough time to unload his belongings, so he did just that. It did not take him much time, for he did not bring a whole armory. After filling his side's drawers with his clothing and other things, he sat down into a cross-legged sit on his bed, closing his eyes and thought about his next step. That kind of meditation did not take long, though. After a while he got bored of it and laid down on the bed, staring at the ceiling while humming a song to himself. It was one of the ways he could practice his Quirk.

DORM ROOM 9 Empty Re: DORM ROOM 9

Kizuki was tired. That wasn't anything new, but it still annoyed her. It was the first day of school, and a short day at that, and she was already feeling exhausted. Wasn't being a hero supposed to be easy money? Shouldn't school be the same way? Whatever. She'd put in the hard work now, and live an easy, effortless life later. Maybe. Either way, she took her sweet time finding her dorm room after being told where it was. On one hand, her bed was there, and she could pass out as soon as she got there, but on the other, that would require moving with something like haste, and she had moved with quite enough haste for one day already.

Eventually, Kizuki did finally make her way to the dorm room. Her roommate, it seemed, was already there, and had chosen his side of the room. It was the side she'd planned to take, but she had only herself to blame for not trying to reach the room first, so she supposed she couldn't complain too much. She was in no mood to debate room politics anyway. She immediately began unbuttoning the blazer of her school uniform, tossing it aside carelessly and letting it fall to the room's floor, "God, these things are so stuffy," she complained aloud, rolling her shoulders and stretching her arms, appreciating the freedom of motion granted by her loose t-shirt. At least, she thought, girls got to wear skirts. She pitied the boys, forced to wear pants all day. Truly a torturous existence.

Kizuki couldn't be bothered to unpack. She hadn't taken much, as her belongings were sparse to begin with. The only things she had of note were her guitar, sitting in its black leather case, and her art supplies, carefully kept in their own bag, two of the few material possessions she had to her name. Leaving her things packed until a later date, she fell face-first onto the remaining bed with a plop. The force of the impact ran throughout her body, and the arm hanging over the edge of the bed as she landed abruptly fell off from her shoulder, as she didn't bother diverting the minor amount of attention or effort it would take to keep it attached, landing dully at the side of the bed. She turned onto her side to look at her roommate. "Hey," she said finally, thinking that the longer she went without talking to him, the more awkward it would be when she did, "Whatcha humming for?" She regretted her words as soon as they left her mouth. What a stupid thing to ask. She was attempting to break the ice, but immediately considered abandoning ship and just going to sleep. Maybe she could end the conversation by turning herself into a pile of body parts. That would probably freak him out enough to make him not want to talk. No, no. That would be a bit hasty. She'd see how this went, first.

Upon noticing someone else entering the room, Souma's humming became a bit quieter. That was one thing he needed to get used to; not being alone in the room. Stopping suddenly could give others an idea, so he instead opted to just lower his humming. He continued this without a word until he was asked a question. At that point, his eyes opened and he looked towards the familiar voice. At this point, his humming stopped entirely as he showed a welcoming smile. It was just common courtesy, he believed. The voice was familiar because he heard it before, and the place was at the exams. They were in a team together after all, it would be quite awkward not to hear each-others' voices. While Souma did not speak often, he too spoke throughout the exam. He had to out of necessity of providing results.

"It's a habit from my Quirk." he said softly, and after a short pause resumed "What a coincidence," he said in reference to them both being put on the same team, as well as the same dorm room "or perhaps they put those have been teamed up in the same dorm room." He wondered what use would that be, and how many more have been placed like this. Or if it was truly just a pure coincidence. He realized that finding out would take too much needless effort, though, and so he just assumed it was just a coincidence for now. He swung his arms forward to get himself into a sitting position and then turned towards Kazuki.

"My name is Souma. Onyomi Souma." he spoke quietly with a subtle nod following afterwards. He could guess how someone meeting a stranger and living with them abruptly must have felt and so he tried to ease the mood by introducing himself first. Had it helped or not only time could tell, but for his own good he had to make sure the air wasn't filled with awkwardness. That was partly the reason he spoke more than usual this time around. There was one thing he could not ignore, though, and that was...

He raised his hand, and pointed towards the side of the bed Kizuki landed on. "Your arm fell off." he said with the same tone of voice, the same heart-warming smile, and a blank stare lacking emotion. A simple matter-of-fact statement. He thought that perhaps she didn't feel it, much like a person doesn't feel a spider landing on them. Not the best comparison. A sight like this would normally surprise a person, but luckily Souma already had experience with it in the exams.

"Oh." Kizuki responded simply to Souma's equally simple answer. That made sense. Kizuki vaguely recalled the boy's quirk from the exam they had worked together on, but she hadn't paid much attention to the specifics of it. She was much too busy running away from that rich star-throwing bitch. Indeed, despite working on the exam together, Kizuki hadn't spent much time getting to know this boy at all. In that case, perhaps it was fortuitous that they were roommates. Or maybe not. In the end, Kizuki realized, it didn't really make a difference who were roommate was, as long as they weren't annoying, and Souma seemed fairly tolerable, even pleasant. So long as he didn't start throwing around the elitism or self-righteousness she feared of her classmates, they'd get along fine, she figured.

Kizuki slouched her body, lifting herself up to sit on the bed and look at her roommate, and shrugged, "Yeah, I suppose so," she said, "Dunno if it really is a coincidence though. Probably threw all the teammates together, like 'You worked together, so you should be able to live together,' or something," she put on a fake, mocking voice, and raised her arms into the air to gesture. Well, she raised one arm into the air. On the ground, her severed arm tried its best, bending at the elbow, the forearm raising off the ground, her hand gesturing just as her other one did, just not quite as high. Then, she nodded to her new roommate, "Nuime Kizuki," she gave her name, "Pleasure."

Then, with a look of dull surprise, Kizuki followed Souma's gesture to her arm on the floor, "Oh. Yeah. It does that sometimes." Leaning down, she picked the severed arm of the ground with her still-attached arm, and placed it against her stump of a shoulder. In an instant, an array of stitches appeared between the two, she let go of the arm, and it seemed to stay attached with no problem. As if to demonstrate, she rolled her shoulder and stretched the reattached arm again, moving as fluidly as ever. "Sometimes I feel like I just don't have the energy to keep it together, y'know? Especially after a day as tiring as today. God, I hope every day isn't like this." She suddenly collapsed back into the bed, this time actually putting in the minimal effort required to keep her body parts attached, "I guess it's not all bad. Winning a contest day one is cool. Just gimme a break before I have to do it again."

She laid still for a moment, in silence, looking up at the ceiling, perhaps getting ready for a (three or four hour) nap, to recover her strength, when she suddenly, without getting up, reached across her body and once again yanked her arm off, defeating the purpose of putting it back on in the first place, and carelessly tossed it at the foot of her bed, where it landed next to her still packed belongings with a thud. The severed arm quickly went to work, standing itself up on its fingers and crawling across the ground towards a bag, clumsily dragging itself up the side, and awkwardly fumbling as it tried to find the zipper to the bag. After a moment, the hand grasped the zipper and cascaded back down to the ground, opening the bag with it, then once more crawled up and inside the bag, feeling around for something. "C'mon already," Kizuki groaned from her position on the bed, there we go.. Finally, the arm emerged once more, lifting a sketchbook and pencil out of the bag with it. It plopped onto the ground once more, objects in tow, and dragged itself to Kizuki's bedside, where she blindly let her other arm dangle over the edge, until her arms could feel each other, and she lifted both of them onto her bed, once again reattaching the severed arm. With sketchbook and pencil in hand, Kizuki finally sat up, staring intently at the blank page before her, and went to work.
